Terms of Service

The service

songfor.me generates a custom song from information you provide about a recipient, delivered as a permanent page at a unique URL. The service is operated by Luke Hanner (Modryn Studio). By using songfor.me, you agree to these terms.

You must be 18 or older to purchase. By completing checkout, you confirm you meet this requirement.

Payment and delivery

• Each song costs $9, charged at checkout via Stripe. Payment is required before song generation begins.
• Song generation typically completes within a few minutes of payment. If generation fails after your payment is captured, we will either retry delivery or issue a full refund. Email hello@songfor.gift if you were charged and did not receive your song.
• The recipient page is accessible to anyone with the link. We make reasonable efforts to maintain permanent access but cannot guarantee availability indefinitely.
• When two versions are generated, the unchosen version is retained for a period of 90 days and then deleted.

Refunds

If your song was not delivered due to a technical failure on our end, you are entitled to a full refund. We do not offer refunds on successfully generated songs. If you were charged and did not receive your song, email hello@songfor.gift.

What you provide

You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the information you submit. By providing details about the recipient, you confirm:

• You have the right to share this information for the purpose of creating a gift for someone
• The information does not infringe on any third party's rights
• You will not use the service to create content that is harmful, harassing, or abusive

AI-generated content

Songs are generated using artificial intelligence based on the information you provide. The output is original audio produced from your inputs. We do not replicate the voice or style of any specific artist. Music taste inputs are used for genre and mood direction only.

We do not guarantee that any two songs are unique — different senders may receive similar output. Songs are not original compositions in the copyright sense and are provided for personal gifting use only.

You receive a non-exclusive license to use the delivered song for personal, non-commercial purposes — sharing it with the recipient, posting it on personal social media, keeping it as a personal record. Commercial use requires a separate arrangement.

songfor.me retains no ownership claim over songs generated from your inputs. The license granted to you is perpetual for personal use.

Prohibited uses

You may not use songfor.me to:

• Generate content about a person without a legitimate gifting intent
• Harass, defame, or harm any individual
• Circumvent payment or attempt to trigger generation without completing checkout
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or systematically access the service
• Resell songs or recipient pages commercially without our written permission

Content removal

Recipients or subjects of a song page may request removal by emailing hello@songfor.gift with the page URL. We will review and remove content that violates these terms or causes demonstrable harm within a reasonable timeframe.

Limitation of liability

songfor.me is provided as-is. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.

We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times or that generated output will meet any specific creative standard. Song generation is dependent on third-party infrastructure that may be unavailable or produce unexpected results.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted here.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
